“An evil magician has stolen the Enchanted Chalice and has hidden it somewhere in the Kingdom. The object of the game is to rescue the Enchanted Chalice and place it inside the Golden Castle where it belongs.” This is the official description given on the Atari site.
Releasing in 1980 Adventure is an action adventure game created by Warren Robinett and published by Atari for the Atari 2600 with the goal of searching the open world for the chalice to return to the castle. The game was received well by many people.
Easter Egg: Adventure also has the honour of having the one of the earliest example of an easter egg. While not the first it popularized the term. An easter egg being something hidden in a game that just as a secret. it can be a message visual object or reference to another game. In this case it was the message “created by Warren Robinett in a hidden room.
